Yesterday was Curvy Convention 2015, if you've not heard of Curvy Convention, the Curvy Convention is "a fabulous event celebrating the fuller figure with everything plus size in one convenient location."
**Before I go into details, a little warning that this is a very picture heavy post**
I started the day off a little hectic, I had to run to Primark at 9am to find some kind of hair accessory. I'm like the Queen of hair accessories, I have so many but none went with my new hairstyle and my outfit. I ended up settling for a gold flower crown, after Primark I headed home to get ready to go. I'm pretty lucky and live one bus ride away from the venue but I decided as I was running a little behind my own schedule I took the train. I got there in about 30 minutes.
As I arrived Gemma Collins collection was live on the catwalk, she had many stunning pieces and I was so glad to see models in all shapes, heights and sizes. My two favourite pieces from GC's collection is the blue dress in the middle and the dress on the right.
After the catwalk finished I had my first little walk around, I got drawn towards Voodoo Vixen, I've heard so many amazing things about Voodoo Vixen and seen so many beautiful dresses that I want but never knew what their sizes would be like. I spotted a beautiful tartan dress which I later found online called 'Emmie' it is £62.99 and way out of my price range but I really like it which is a total shame.
After looking at Voodoo Vixen, I skipped a few stalls and went straight to the Shapewear by Alarna, I've wanted a waist trainer for a while now and for £32 I couldn't go wrong. I got to try it on and the lady was so lovely and I'm really happy with it. I've worn it twice now, last night and a little today it is a bit tight but hopefully with time I'll notice something. I may do a review but depends on my confidence level if I'm honest.
By the time I was done with trying on my shapewear and talking to a few stalls and filling out surveys it was time for Topsy Curvy's catwalk, I fell in love with so many items, my favourite is this navy and white dress, I actually went to their stand to buy it but they never had my size so come pay-day I can't wait to have a look online and buy a few things.
I also fell in love with loads of items from Simply Be, I've only been in store once and I was so happy when they gave me a 20% discount for their Oxford Street store. I'll be making sure I go sometime this month so I can pick up a few items. I have had a few customers at work say that Simply Be are a little off with their sizes and I should make sure I try everything on so I know it will be a few hour affair.
After a while it was time for Elle Emme Couture, I'll be honest I wasn't a fan of a single item in the collection although I can appropriate if you're into that style they're are some amazing items, just not for me I guess. The models did look beautiful and really happy.
Next was lunch for me, I sat down in the café and bought a Pepsi Max and a ham salad. Unfortunately they never had any salt which made this a little harder to enjoy but was nice to have an healthier option for lunch as I know I'd be having a few alcoholic drinks later that day. I was down in the cafe for about an hour I believe, and I was so upset to find out I missed the ASOS catwalk, from the pictures I've seen on Instagram they had an amazing collection, while I was in the cafe I met a few bloggers and got chatting before heading upstairs to watch Voodoo Vixen on the catwalk.
Voodoo Vixen's catwalk was by far my favourite! I loved the music, the models looked so cheery and happy, the style was amazing and I loved their hair!
Not long after this catwalk I spoke with, who I assume is the manager at the Southend 'Taking Shape' store. I'm awful and can't remember her name. She was so lovely, honest and I can't wait to take a trip to her store in Southend, I saw Taking Shape on Plus-Size Wars and I'm excited to see some of their collection.
I also met so many beautiful, amazing plus-size bloggers. It was amazing to meet Georgina from 'She Might Be Loved' and Kathryn from 'Murder of Goths' who are both bloggers who will be interviewed on my blog next week.

I'm glad that now not only skinny women are being focused as models. I think every woman, no matter is the size, should be appreciated like this: to be on the stage. It's a lovely event and they looked fab!!! :)
